Publication Ethics

This statement of scientific code is a statement of all parties involved in the publication process of Environmental Health / Public Health including managers, editors, bestari partners, and writers. This statement of code of ethics for scientific publications is based on the Head of LIPI Regulation Number 5 of 2014 concerning the Code of Ethics for Scientific Publications.

 The ethics of scientific publications uphold three ethical values ​​in publications, namely:

 (1) Neutrality, which is free from conflicting interests in the management of publications;

(2) Justice, namely giving authorship rights to those entitled as authors / writers; and

(3) Honesty, which is free from duplication, fabrication, falsification and plagiarism (DF2P) in publications.

 

Duties and Responsibilities of Journal Manager

  1. Determine the name of the journal, scope of scholarship, scale, and submission of accreditation if needed. Determine the membership of the editorial board.
  2. Defining the relationship between the publisher, editor, bestari partner, and other parties in a contract.
  3. Respect confidential matters, both for contributing researchers, authors / writers, editors, and bestari partners.
  4. Applying norms and provisions regarding intellectual property rights, especially copyright.
  5. Review journal policies and submit them to authors / writers, editorial boards, bestari partners, and readers.
  6. Making guidelines on rules and ethical behavior for editors and bestari partners.
  7. Publish journals regularly.
  8. Guarantee the availability of financial resources for the sustainability of journal publishing.
  9. Building a network of cooperation between research institutions and related institutions
  10. Prepare permits and other aspects of legality.

 

Editor's Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Meeting the needs of readers and writers, Strive to improve the quality of publications on an ongoing basis,
  2. Implement a process to guarantee the quality of published works,
  3. Promoting freedom of opinion objectively,
  4. Maintaining the integrity of the author's academic track record,
  5. Submitting corrections, clarifications, and apologies if needed,
  6. Responsible for the style and format of writing scientific papers, while the contents and all statements in the paper are the responsibility of the author,
  7. Actively soliciting the opinions of writers, readers, bestari partners, and members of the editorial board to improve the quality of publications,
  8. Conduct periodic internal evaluations of the quality of scientific journals
  9. Support the writer's initiative on the ethics of publication by including the clearance form in each submission of the manuscript
  10. Be open-minded towards new opinions or other people's views that may conflict with personal opinions for the progress of science,
  11. Avoiding objective decisions by not defending their own opinions, writers or third parties by finding solutions that are scientifically accountable,
  12. Encourage writers to make improvements to the paper to be published.

 


Duties and Responsibilities of Bestari Partners

  1. Reviewing the paper and submitting the results of the review to the editor, as material for determining the eligibility of a paper to be published,
  2. The reviewers do not conduct a scientific study of papers involving themselves, either directly or indirectly,
  3. Provide positive suggestions, input and recommendations on scientific manuscripts,
  4. Maintaining the privacy of the author by not disseminating the results of corrections, suggestions, and recommendations for a manuscript,
  5. Encourage writers to improve writing,
  6. Reviewing the paper that has been repaired in accordance with the specified standards,
  7. The paper is reviewed on time according to the style of publication environment based on scientific principles (data collection methods, author's legality, conclusions, etc.) that have been determined.

Duties and Responsibilities of the Author

  1. Ensure that those included in the list of authors meet the criteria as an author,
  2. Responsible collectively for the work and content of the article including the method, analysis, calculation, and details.
  3. State the origin of the resources (including funding), both directly and indirectly.
  4. Explain limitations in research.
  5. Respond to comments made by bestari partners and the editorial board in a scientific and timely manner.
  6. Inform the editor in writing if he will retract his paper.
  7. Make a statement that the paper submitted for publication is original, and has never been published anywhere and in any language, and is not in the process of being submitted to other publishers.
